Here’s a fun fact – Aussies will send more than 24.8 billion text messages by the end of 2009. True story. So with all the LOLs and OMGs floating around it’s safe to assume there’s one among us, a text wizard of inhuman dexterity and magnificent touch typing ability, who could be deemed “fastest texter in Australia”.
Well if that person is you – LG is officially on the search for the fastest texter in Australia. The Australian winner will walk away with $10,000 and a trip to New York to represent Asia Pacific in the LG Mobile World Cup where they will compete for the ultimate prize of $100,000 USD.
LG invited people to prove their texting competency in the qualifying events, the first of which was held in Sydney on the weekend. The Brisbane and Melbourne heats will be held over the next couple of weeks. Contestants will need to demonstrate their texting abilities based on speed and accuracy to win an LG mobile phone and advance to the Grand Final at MTV’s Sydney office, where one finalist will be crowned Australia’s fastest texter.
So limber up your thumbs and get down to one of the participating Westfields to see if you are the fastest texter in Australia!!!
