A representative for the couple told the publication in a statement:
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Rumours of a split began to circulate earlier this weekend, when Miley Cyrus posted a photo of herself on holiday without wearing her wedding ring.
Earlier this year, the singer said she did not plan on having children until we fix the state of the environment, telling Elle:
“We’re getting handed a piece-of-shit planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that.”
Miley Cyrus, 26, and Liam Hemsworth, 29, met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, and after an on-again, off-again relationship throughout the ensuing decade, they eventually married in 2018.
