When is the next New Moon?

Okay, my spiritual sisters, get your manifestations ready because the Cancer New Moon is set to rise on July 6.

What does the Cancer New Moon mean?

Do you have a Cancer in your life? I bet they’re your absolute rock. Cancerians are the mama bears of the zodiac who make it their mission in life to look after others, god love ’em.

With this in mind, think of the Cancer New Moon as your kind and caring friend.

The energy from this lunar occasion will be like a nice warm hug and you’ll be feeling the love big time from mother moon. As I mentioned earlier, Cancer is ruled by the moon so the energy is particularly potent and powerful. Remember that!

But with that nurturing energy comes tough love and a firm hand, which is what you might find as revelations in your love life begin to unravel. Either by an unexpected event or by the inevitable analysis of your love life which could result in a change of heart.

The Cancer New Moon falls in Venus AKA the love planet so its focus is on relationships.

If you’re committed, that might mean having important conversations with your other half and setting boundaries.

If you’re single, it might mean adjusting the way you approach dating.

You’re being offered a unique opportunity to make improvements to your love life and start afresh with a reinforced set of boundaries and a clear vision for the future.

What should I do during this time?

Here’s a bunch of ways that you can work with the New Moon:

  • Have those chats: If there are any important relationship convos you’ve been putting off, now is the time to have them. The Cancer New Moon will help you achieve emotional breakthroughs!
  • Use crystal magic: Carry a rose quartz (AKA the love stone) with you as you have those talks to help bring peace, harmony and healing. It also promotes inner and outer love.
  • Tizz up your home: Cancers care deeply about their home space and with fresh energy emanating from the new moon, try giving your space a good cleansing. I don’t mean tidying your room (although that wouldn’t hurt), I mean performing a smudging to clear out the bad vibes and allow the good stuff to find you.
  • Practice self-care: Being a water sign, Cancer energy is all about healing and rejuvenation so use this time to perform self-care and self-love rituals, whatever that means for you.
  • Analyse your feelings: Honour all the emotions you’re feeling by either speaking to someone (perhaps a Cancerian friend!) and/or writing them down in your journal to help you process what’s going on in your life and to manifest your desires for the future.
  • Catch up with loved ones: Spend time with family, friends, a lover or whoever it is that fills your cup.
  • Be kind to yourself: Above all, look after yourself (and your loved ones!). When you have those revelations, don’t beat yourself up. Instead, acknowledge the fact that this is your path and focus on what’s next for you.

It’s also worth noting that Neptune Retrograde and Saturn Retrograde have just begun so have a read of what those entail!
