Maccas Apologises After Toddler Sucks On Condom Found In Perth Restaurant

McDonald’s has apologised after a toddler found a condom in the main dining area of one of its restaurants in Perth and sucked on it.

The child’s mother, who has remained anonymous, told 10Daily she had been grabbing dinner with her two-year-old daughter and husband on Friday night.

She had been ordering food at the counter, her husband with her daughter, when the toddler found the condom.

“I don’t know how it happened but when my husband next looks at her, she’s sucking on a black condom,” she told 10Daily.

“I ran into the bathrooms, washed her mouth and hands and came out and gave her a drink. We were terrified.”

The woman said the condom was open and looked like it had been used. She thinks her daughter may have found it on a chair.

“I am really angry and sickened … I haven’t slept. I have been feeling overwhelmingly guilty for taking her there in the first place,” she said.

After leaving Maccas and visiting their local doctor, the family was told to return to the restaurant for the condom so they could bring it to a hospital for testing.

“What if there is an STD there and my daughter is going to get it? We have to wait three months to do a blood test on her,” she said.

In a statement to 10Daily, McDonald’s apologised to the family and said they were investigating the incident.

“We are very sorry that the incident occurred, and take situations like this seriously. We are conducting an investigation into how this happened.

“Cleanliness and safety are our top priorities and we ensure the Shift Manager on duty conducts what we refer to as a travel path every 30 minutes.”
