Grande’s song was heavily influenced by The Sound of Music‘s ‘My Favorite Things’ and since its release yesterday, has already amassed more than 24 million views on YouTube and currently holds the No. 1 spot on Trending.

In an Instagram video that has since been deleted, Nokia compared ‘7 Rings’ to her 2017 song ‘Mine’, from the album 1992.

She particularly played a snippet of her song – dedicated to women of colour and all their different types of hair – with the lyrics: “Rock my many styles then go natural for the summer / hair blowing in the hummer / flip in the weave, I am a stunner / It’s mine, I bought it / It’s mine, I bought it / It’s mine, I bought it”.

Nokia then switched to Grande rapping: “You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it / I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it / I want it, I got it, I want it, I got it”.

“Does that sound familiar to you?” she asked in the video. “‘Cos that sounds really familiar to me. Oh my God.”

Nokia then paused the music and said, “Wait, ain’t that the little song I made about brown women and their hair, mmm, sounds about white.”

Grande was tagged in the caption.

Though deleted, Nokia’s video still circulated widely on social media.

Just hours later, Soulja Boy also called out Grande with a video claiming ‘7 Rings’ sounds like the rapper’s 2010 song ‘Pretty Boy Swag’.

“Arianaaaa??????” he captioned the post. “Ariana?!”
