The Quarantine Station Is Doing A ‘Shutter Island’ Experience So You Can Pay To Wet Yourself

Australia has a lot of creepy shit in it, especially when it comes to haunted stuff. Like Sydney’s Quarantine Station, for example.

They clearly know what’s good, because they’re utilising their haunt status and goddamn running with it. Aside from some Halloween ghost tours, they’ve now announced what is currently trending in my brain as the #1 “fucked idea I hate” – a recreation of iconic thriller Shutter Island.

They’ve thought it all out – you’ll be collected by ferry from Circular Quay – just like in the movie, you’re approaching by ferry (hopefully it’s also a shitty, overcast day).

Then, they’ll have transformed the Quarantine Station into Ashecliff Hospital – the setting for the film. A host of actors will play characters from the film, including US Marshall Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule. The plot is the same – the partners are trying to track down missing patient Rachel Solando.

If this sounds like fun to you (it sounds like hell to me but I’m a scaredy cat) the event is running not on Halloween like you might expect, but in November. Tickets are $85 per person, and there are multiple timeslots on just one day – Sunday, November 17.

Book your four-hour timeslot at 3pm, 4.30pm or 6pm on the Quarantine Station website here, and don’t forget to RSVP on Facebook.
